Lloyd Eist House has been nominated for the ArchDaily 2024 Building of the Year Awards

We are pleased to announce that Lloyd Eist House, our residential development project in Camberwell, South London, has been nominated for the ArchDaily 2024 Building of the Year Awards.

Lloyd Eist House involves the refurbishment and new second floor and side extension of a mid-century storage warehouse building to provide a three-storey family home. The project demonstrates the extent to which a unique, flexible and sustainable dwelling can be achieved on a very small urban site.

Common Ground Workshop purchased the site in 2022 and set up ‘Common Ground Developments -1’; a new architect-led development company to secure funding and take the project forward. We are deeply motivated to improve London’s housing stock and wanted to use the project as a platform to develop our vision for lasting, flexible and sustainable places for people to live in for the long term. This opportunity offered the perfect chance to springboard into responsible and well-designed property development and to make this vision a reality.

The ArchDaily Building of the Year Awards celebrates outstanding architectural achievements from around the world, recognising creativity, innovation and dedication in architectural design. Public voting is open until February 13th on ArchDaily’s website.
