We create distinctive, thoughtful and collaborative responses for the built environment.

About Us

Common Ground Workshop is an East London–based architecture practice specialising in complex and constrained projects.

Every site holds untapped potential. Our role is to reveal how it works.

We work with clients to understand how a building needs to perform – and what it can become.

We are brought in where sites require more than a standard response – using planning insight and clear strategy to resolve constraints and create a path forward.

Our work spans existing buildings and new sites across residential, workspace, hospitality and urban projects – from private homes to mixed-use developments and placemaking initiatives.

Often, our work begins where others hesitate: navigating planning challenges and transforming underperforming buildings and sites into high-quality, commercially grounded places.

Brought in early, relied on throughout and trusted to deliver.

Awards and Publications

Our work has been recognised across both residential and commercial sectors, with projects published in the UK and internationally.

This reflects a consistent focus on clarity, design quality and deliverable outcomes – often on projects defined by complexity, constraint and untapped potential.
