Common Ground Workshop Architects | Newcastle Padel & Wellness Hub

Common Ground Workshop have submitted a planning application for a new padel and wellness destination at Quorum Park in Newcastle. The proposal transforms a former tennis court site within the business park into a vibrant leisure hub, bringing together sport, hospitality and wellbeing within a single, carefully designed setting.

The scheme introduces three full-size padel courts and two singles courts, supported by a new clubhouse building designed as a social and health-focused destination. The clubhouse incorporates reception, hospitality and retail space, alongside flexible event areas and a dedicated health and wellbeing suite with pool facilities.

More than a sports facility, the project explores how underused sites within business parks can be reimagined as active, mixed-use destinations. By combining padel with hospitality and wellness, the scheme creates a place that supports both daytime use and evening activity, encouraging longer dwell times and a broader range of users.

The project reflects Common Ground Workshop’s approach as East London architects working across hospitality, workspace and leisure sectors, with a focus on unlocking complex and underutilised sites through commercially intelligent and design-led interventions.

The scheme is being delivered for PCC Contracting, with Padel Court Club as operator, alongside Studio Smith as client’s agent and Padel Plan as planning consultant.
