Brisbane Family Villa
An extensive refurbishment to a private residential property in Brisbane, Australia, adding bedrooms and reception rooms, a large lower ground floor family room and luxury swimming pool.
Common Ground Workshop were commissioned by ‘Carmen + Co’ to help redevelop the existing 1950’s townhouse which the clients fell out of love with. The response was to create an open / semi transparent home which connects to the landscape through a variety of new levels, openable screens and glazed sliding doors, and an extensive new pool area. The house is designed with a large overhanging roof line to shade the interior from the harsh Queensland sun.
