About
Common Ground Workshop creates distinctive, thoughtful and collaborative responses for the built environment. We put people at the heart of every project.
Our common purpose is to make better, more sustainable, and socially connected places to inhabit and enjoy.
We specialise in reimagining the full potential and character of existing buildings and new sites. Working across a range of private residential, commercial interiors and masterplanning schemes we have developed an approach to design that is scalable and highly tailored to each project.
We embrace diverse ideas and inter-disciplinary working practices, developing a deep understanding of sites and strong partnerships with our clients, stakeholders and wider communities.
Sustainability and Social Value
Our approach is two-fold: We seek high energy efficiency and low carbon design as standard, and are engaged in continuous research to utilize sustainable materials internally and externally.
Secondly, we provide for social sustainability by future proofing all our buildings and promoting flexible and agile space. This can take a number of forms, from allowing for a range of possible use patterns, including home working and family growth, and changing operations within commercial units.
We design Inclusive, immersive and egalitarian spaces that create delight and promote wellbeing, cohesiveness, and connectivity with the outdoors and the natural environment.
Awards and Publications
We have won and been shortlisted for numerous industry awards for both our residential work and commercial interiors. This is testament to our client focused and design orientated approach that seeks excellence in every project regardless of scale.
Our work has been widely published in the UK and internationally, in Europe and in countries ranging from the USA and China, to Australia and South Korea. Our work has featured extensively in both print and online.
