Eversley Road

Eversley Road is a transformative renovation of a mid-terrace family home located on a leafy suburban street in Charlton, southeast London. The project involved a dramatic remodelling of the existing rear elevation over two levels, alongside an extensive ground-floor kitchen refurbishment, to create a contemporary, light-filled living space that opens onto a newly designed terraced garden.

The design introduces a clean and modern palette of materials, including heritage brickwork, black-painted timber, and anodised aluminium doors and windows, providing a cohesive and contemporary aesthetic. These materials are complemented by extensive new planting arranged over three terraced planters, enhancing the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Internally, the ground-floor kitchen has been overhauled to maximise natural light and functionality. The interior features a blend of whitewashed timbers, matte-painted and laminated finishes, and brass accents in linings, taps, and ironmongery, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

This project exemplifies how thoughtful design and material selection can rejuvenate a traditional London terrace, delivering a sustainable and modern family home that respects its historical context while meeting contemporary living standards.

“Common Ground have been great throughout the entire process of our project. They have been extremely thorough and considerate working through the various challenges with our project, and worked hard to come up with creative solutions to various unforeseen challenges. They have also helped us make difficult material selection, and found various specialist services required along the way. More importantly and fundamentally, they devised a fantastic scheme, which more than meets our objectives.”
