Located at the prestigious new Embassy Gardens Development by Ballymore, 9 Elms (London), the unit sits on a prominent corner opposite the newly proposed 9 Elms Linear Park and adjacent to the new American Embassy building. The unit is part of a wider urban realm masterplan comprising circa 45,000 sqft of commercial space an 8,000 sqft of retail over an 8ha site.

Common Ground Workshop have been commissioned to design a new restaurant, bar and events space at the unit; the resulting offer will be the first permanent venue of its kind for the Client who specialises in events management at UK clubs and festivals. The design takes cues from an attractive site-specific urban aesthetic and from the siting of the unit at the junction between a pervasive city grid and the softer linear park landscape. The proposed ‘6th & union’ interior design language seeks to blend hard and soft landscaping motifs into a material palate that is filled with tactile and textured surfaces set against harder more industrial finishes, reminiscent of the sprawling city infrastructure landscape.

The unit will create a unique visitor experience and seeks to enliven the recently completed public realm at Embassy Gardens by creating a destination in the rapidly changing context of Lambeth.
