Our approach

Common Ground Workshop specialises in creating dynamic and site-specific hybrid responses for existing commercial premises and new sites.

Our work is diverse in nature and ranges from converting existing retail premises to provide a variety of new uses, to undertaking masterplans and placemaking at disused sites, and interior proposals for existing commercial units.

Owning and operating a hybrid business premises (incorporating workspace, a café and retail, and arts project space) has given us a key insight into how hybrid design works in practice. To date, we have worked with developers, land and property owners of all sizes to combine the following uses:

• Workspace / Co-working space
• Leisure and wellbeing facilities
• Public art and community space
• Conversion of retail units to workspace

We consult on change of use applications, provide hospitality business operational advice, and provide asset management consultancy.
